Ach, nicht schon wieder ein „Hund von Baskerville“! Dabei hatten wir doch schon so viele Versionen von dem Höllenhund. Aber noch kein Filmprogramm zum Hund von Baskerville von 1978.
Die Vorderseite
Die Frontseite teilt sich grundsätzlich in zwei Hälften auf. Auf dem obigen Bild sieht man die beiden Protagonisten: Sherlock Holmes und Dr. Watson. Sherlock Holmes wird von Peter Cook und Dr. Watson von Dudley Moore verkörpert. Mit seiner übergroßen Pfeife liest Holmes das Buch Guilt without sex, während Watson mit einer übergroßen Lupe in das Buch schaut.
Das untere Bild zeigt den Hund. Jedoch einen „pissenden“ Hund, der von Stapleton (Denholm Elliot) getragen wird. Bereits das Cover zeigt komödiantischen Stil des Films. Wenn man überhaupt von einer Komödie sprechen kann…
Die Rückseite
Das Layout des Filmprogramm zieht sich auf der Rückseite weiter durch. Sherlock Holmes, Dr. Watson, Sir Henry Baskerville (Kenneth Williams) und Dr. Mortimer (Terry-Thomas) befinden sich in 221B Baker Street. Merkwürdigerweise trägt Sherlock Holmes einen karierten Deerstalker! Watson und Sir Henry gucken einfach nur bescheuert. Dies lässt sich auch auf das untere Bild übertragen. In dem unteren Abschnitt gibt es wieder die üblichen Informationen, unter anderem auch die Angabe August 1978.
Innenseite
Das Innere ist erneut geprägt durch verschiedene Szenen (Fünf an der Zahl) und den üblichen Angaben zu den Schauspielern (Cast). Die Szenen zeigen die vielfältig-bescheuerte Art des Films. Nicht nur, dass Haare ausgewrungen werden und ein Schlafzimmer voller Nebel ist, machen auch alle beteiligten Personen komische Grimassen auf den Fotos. In der Mitte befindet sich die übliche Inhaltsangabe, die diesmal tatsächlich fast ohne Spoiler auskommt. Ist aber auch kein Wunder wenn man „Der Hund von Baskerville“ kennt und diese Adaption doch sehr inhaltsleer ist. Die Inhaltsangabe verrät zum Beispiel, dass es in dem Film auch eine Mrs. Holmes gibt. Es ist die Mutter von Sherlock Holmes.
Um es direkt auf den Punkt zu bringen: Dieser Film ist einfach nur bescheuert. Dies ist nur ein Grund, warum sich dieser Artikel relativ kurz hält und lediglich beschreibt, wie das Filmprogramm aufgebaut ist. Also einfach schnell zum nächsten Filmprogramm und dieses hier schnell vergessen!

Oh, not again! Not another The Hound of the Baskervilles! We had so many versions of the hound on this blog. Hehe but not a movie magazine for the 1978 version…
The front cover
The front cover is basically divided into two parts. The first picture shows the main protagonists: Sherlock Holmes and Dr. Watson. Sherlock Holmes is portrayed by Peter Cook and Dr. Watson personified by Dudley Moore. With a huge pipe in his mouth Holmes is looking into a book called Guilt without Sex, while Watson is looking with a massive magnifying glass into the book as well. The other picture shows the „pissing“ little dog which is held by Stapleton (Denholm Elliot). The cover itself already reveals the comedic elements of this film. If you can call it comedic or just stupid…
The back cover
The layout continues at the back. Sherlock Holmes, Dr. Watson, Sir Henry Baskerville (Kenneth Williams) and Dr. Mortimer (Terry-Thomas) are at 221B Baker Street. Oddly enough, Sherlock Holmes is wearing a checkered deerstalker. Watson’s and Sir Henry’s face and their expressions look just stupid. The same can be said to the other picture. As always, the back reveals the usual information on the movie magazine and shows the release date: August 1978.
Inside
The inside shows five different scenes from the film and the usual information on who is acting which character (cast). The chosen scenes show the many-faceted and stupid elements of the whole film. Not only hair is wrung and a bedroom full of fog is shown, all the actors on this scenes make odd and stupid expressions. In the middle you can find the usual summary of the film which does not contain that many spoilers. But if you know the story of The Hound of the Baskervilles you can guess what the film is about although the spoof does not really have a plot. The summary for instance reveals that there is also a Mrs Holmes who is the mother of Sherlock Holmes.
To bring it to an end…: This film ist just stupid. Period. This is also a reason why this article and description is relatively short. So, just delete this film from your memory and I will move on with the next movie magazine.
