Heute: BBC Postkarten “His Last Bow” 1994
Im heutigen Beitrag möchte ich euch BBC Postkarten von 1994 vorstellen. Das Set von 8 Postkarten liegt in einem Pappumschlag, den man an den Ecken auseinander ziehen muss.
Es handelt sich bei diesem Set um die Kurzgeschichtensammlung His Last Bow und der Dramatisierung im BBC Radio. Die beiden Sprecher sind die legendären Stimmen von Clive Merrison als Sherlock Holmes und Michael Williams als Dr. John Watson.
Clive Merrison ist genau für diese Dramatisierung bekannt und gab Sherlock Holmes seiner Stimme über 75 Mal (von 1989-1998 und 2002, 2004, 2008-2010). Außerdem ist er der Einzige, der alle Kurzgeschichten und Romane vertont hat.
Die 8 Postkarten sind jeweils eine der Kurzgeschichten:
- Wisteria Lodge
- The Cardboard Box
- The Red Circle
- The Bruce Partington Plans
- The Dying Detective
- The Disappearance of Lady Frances Carfax
- The Devil’s Foot
- His Last Bow
Auf der Rückseite sind die jeweiligen Sendezeiten im Radio. Also müssen die Postkarten im Vorfeld ausgegeben worden sein. Jede Postkarte zeigt eine Illustration der Geschichte und das dazugehörige Zitat aus dem Kanon.
Für mich sehr klassische Postkarten mit meinen Lieblingsmotiven und einem tollen Design. Ich würde auch sehr gerne die anderen Postkarten haben aus den anderen Sammlungen (z.B. The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes) besitzen.
Today: BBC Postcards “His Last Bow” 1994
Today I would like to introduce something from my Sherlock Holmes collection: BBC postcards from 1994. In total there are 8 postcards in cardboard cover.
The postcard set is connected to the short story collection “His Last Bow” and the dramatised BBC radio show. All these shows are dramatised with Clive Merrison as Sherlock Holmes and Michael Williams as Dr. John Watson.
Clive Merrison is known for this radio show and gave his voice over 75 times (from 1989-1998, 2002, 2004 and 2008-2010). Furthermore, he is the only one who dramatised every short story and all novels.
Every postcard contains exactly one short story from “His Last Bow”:
- Wisteria Lodge
- The Cardboard Box
- The Red Circle
- The Bruce Partington Plans
- The Dying Detective
- The Disappearance of Lady Frances Carfax
- The Devil’s Foot
- His Last Bow
On the backside of each postcard, you can see every broadcast dates. Therefore these postcards must have been sold before the actual broadcast. Every postcard shows a classic illustration of the story and the quote.
Personally, these postcards are absolutely stunning with my favorite illustrations. I really would like to have all sets from the other collections (e.g. The Adventure of Sherlock Holmes).
